Want to wow your sweetie? Very few folks don’t love a good foot rub! So, to find out the best way to tackle this, we checked in with our Massage Therapist, Crissa (Kirkland).
1. Apply Lotion (or Oil) With partner laying on their back and you facing them at their feet, apply a small amount of lotion or oil into your hand then massage gently all over foot.
2. Thumb Circles Starting at the center of the heel, use thumbs to massage up towards the toes by making little circles - the left thumb goes counter-clockwise and the right clockwise, simultaneously.
3. Straight Lines Use your index finger and apply pressure at the inside of the heel and move up towards the big toe in a straight line, continue to the other side of the foot.
4. Crisscross Thumbs Start at the ball of foot with your thumbs laid on top of each other, move them vertically across foot, crisscross back and forth while moving down towards the heel.
5. Bone Trace On top of foot with thumbs, trace in between bones starting between big toe and 2nd toe down towards ankle, continue across foot.
6. Circling Ankle Use your finger tips of each hand and circle around the ankle bone a few times.
7. Knuckling Use your knuckle and like a windshield wiper massage back and forth across the sole of the foot.
8. Making Dots Take your thumbs and randomly apply pressure all over the sole of foot.
9. Milking Toes Squeeze toe at base between thumbs and forefinger and gradually inch off toe, continue with each toe.
10. Closing With soft whole hands rub from bottom to top of foot (similar to when you applied the lotion in step 1).
